Who cares? If you have to have ballin parents to make a 500HP Turbo S2000 a reality then do what you gotta do.

Have you tried running it at the track yet? Just curious about what a 500 hp S can do in a 0 to 60 and 1/4 mile. Hows your traction with all that power?

I love being an only child.

Great job on the car. I'm not a huge fan of the wheels, but it looks good with your setup, and the car is fudgin' awesome. Congrats bro.

Yeah, I guess being 19 years of age, and buying my car myself, with the help of my parents co signing, I can understand having your parents help you with your hobby. But, being 19, I probably know more about cars and working on them than most 25-30 year olds. And having a problem like "a leaky Blow-off valve" is the type of problem that shows, parts were just bought, not researched. I dislike it when people take their car to a shop and say I want 500hp and hands over the money. But on the other hand, I'm a DIY kinda guy. And yes, his car is 10 times faster than my car, but being 19 and just recently acquiring the car, I can't even use the 200whp potential of this car, you're a hell of a driver to able to use 500 at such a young age. Congratulations to you and your parents for building such a bad-ass car.

I think it matters because why give props to someone who had it basically handed to him...half the joy you get from your car is that you bought it yourself...some people feel more joy by installing it themselves...you could look back on your life and say "hey, i did that." and not my parents or whoever. Now of course if he did buy everything himself at that age..then Props to you Alex...You deserve me and everyone else's happiness for you. I'm not a hater or anything, of course i'm jealous he has a sweet car, but that's not the basis of what i'm talking about. I don't have a problem with parents helpin out....but if they buy the entire car and his other '04 wrx...thats just messed up. Nice for him...but where's the gratitude in that.
I agree with you in some ways, if the kid doesn't respect what his parents have done for him or doesn't take care of it, and is just all around stuck up about it than yeah it would piss me off. Ill be the first to admit that my parents helped me out with the car, i had the money for the original quote of the setup and parts, then due to fabriacation costs and other parts that were needed i couldn't afford it, so my parents helped me out which to me makes my car more special to me than if i had paid for every penny. I also think that even if a parent gives their child a car and they respect the car and treat it as if they bought it and have even greater respect for sombody who had to work at wendys for 5 years to buy one than whats the diff.As for the wrx, i play hockey in canada in the winter and driving a 500whp s in the snow and ice doesn't excite me any, and it's more of a car that the whole family uses. Again ss made me sound like i bought 2 cars and started throwing money at them, I have had the s for about 2 years and all the work has been done over time.

The car has not been to the track with the turbo. It only runs about 350whp on the street so traction isn't a problem. I will begin to start steping up the boost gradually when the drivetrain gets reinforced.

Thats not how it happened. I had known jeff at evolution way before i had ever decided to tc my car. Jeff and I had talked about this project, i felt like i took my car to a friend. It wasn't like I threw money at some shop owner. He stocked that particular bov. When we talked about that part of the project, experiences of other employees and other project cars showed that the bov held the boost.
