Default Supercharger -- Does It Affect Handling?

Since the unit adds weight directly over the front axle, have you SC people detected any changes in the car's handling characteristics? I ran a search, but couldn't seem to find any answers.

Thanks in advance.

I didn't feel the weight difference. It's just when you are cornering you don't want to push it hard, you lose the rear end.

I'm a former Comptech SC owner. I sold the kit due to financial reasons a few weeks ago. At times, I miss it on the road, but I had a couple of auto-x events with the SC on, and the back end is much more loose with it than without. I'm not sure if it's due to the extra weight added to the front of the car or the extra power(probably both). You defintely have to be a bit more careful not pushing it too hard in the corners. For auto-xing, I don't miss the SC at all, but for cruising around town, I definitely miss it.

I think the added power affects handling much more than the added weight. The rear end breaks loose much easier, so you need to be a lot more careful w/ throttle control. Caveat: my tires have seen their better days

Yep, I learned about this firsthand the other day on an off ramp.

We would all do well to heed Uncle Ben's advice: "With great power comes great responsibility."

Does anyone with a SC change the swaybars to help with the additional power?

I'm reviving this thread to see if anyone can answer deluxe247's question. I'd also like to know if a larger front swaybar is a good idea with an SC.

Does supercharging diminish this car's handling?

I added the front sway bar before the SC. I found handling improved greatly with the Muz/Whiteline 31mm sway bar.

I now have the SC and the fact is if you want to break away you can, but with a bit of control you can corner nicely and use as much power out of the corner as your tyres can put down.

Verdict: It can't hurt!
