Entirely dependant upon the driver. About a .3-.5 second faster. In the flat 5.0 range for most competent drivers using a clutch dump.

How can an extra hundred hp only increase our 0-60 time by .3 to .5????? Does someone have actuall times for this and not just a guess based on driver ability. Someone out there has had to have put on a SC and run their car at a track.

0-60 is only in 2 gears. The "100 HP" is peak HP. This is not carried along the whole RPM range, yet only at 9K RPM. It takes a few gears for the 100 peak HP to really show up in distance. I have run a 5.1 0-60 in my SC S2000, fact, not speculation...but I don't care.

Nobody except for magazine writers race 0-60.

Quaesta,

The reason you don't get a huge decrease in time is that the SC doesn't provide any meaningful boost until 6K RPMs...it actually decreases HP and TQ below 3K rpms on the dynos that I have seen. Until you hit 30mph (6K rpms in 1st gear), you are same/slower than a NA car...after that, you make up ground.

But mercy to the dude reving while you are at speed.

More than a few people have confirmed the above times. Including one of the magazines, for what that's worth. If you want a stoplight dragster, this probably isn't the car for you.

Thanks for your help everyone. I am trying to find a reason to spend 4k on a SC. I love our car at high end (i.e. after VTEC) but was hoping the SC would fill in prior to that point. If your telling me it just adds to the VTEC, then I do not think it is worth it... I can think of plenty of more mods to buy with 4K!

I hope you're talking about "brake fast" or "look fast" parts and not "go fast" parts. The only things you can buy for the S2000 that are gonna change your low end would be a Turbo or NOS.

You could spend $4K on breather mods for the S2000 and see 15-20 HP. Not worth my money.
