Two units to chose from and from what I see most have chosen the Comptech. But in checking out the 2 I see That the Vortech comes with an Aftercooler and the Comptech does not??Also the Vortech says it will give 105 HP more and the Comrtech does not give any figure ( most likely 100 HP). It seems the Vortech also has better cooling as you can also add ice for racing purposes. Does anyone have the Vortech unit installed ? or has anyone had both of these units checked out?? Thanks for the info
comptech has been out longer, so more people have it.
vortech has higher gains with the aftercooler and is harder to install since it has more pieces.
comptech is supposedly working on an aftercooler, but nothing definite on when available, cost, gains, etc.
if i was going to buy it new today, would probably go with vortech. if you are on a budget, and do not plan on squeezing more out of the comptech with a smaller pulley, look for a used one that will be $$$ less than either kit is new. of course, warranty will not transfer over and if it breaks, it will come out of your pocket.
Keith, I have a question about your 4.375 " pulley. How does this compare to the stock pulley(boost and HP gain)? I did a search but the numbers for boost gain seem to vary(from 6.3 psi to 6.7 psi).
the runs were on a mustang dyno. the way it works is it goes to peak, then the test stops, so once we hit max HP it shows the massive drop as it shuts down. when i plotted all the points in my excel spreadsheet and left the datapoints blank, it assumes them as 0 so the graph starts the line for the bottom of the page.
