Default Suspension

I am in the market for an aftermarket suspension setup....I am looking for a setup that will make the car more stable at high speeds. Right now I am between the Comptech System and the T1R system and I am looking for info on both...How do they compare to each other....I don`t want to spend more than $1,500...My other mods will include Strut Tower bars, X Brace and a nice set of tires...I Also plan on running 17inch ASA As1 Rims....I am looking into doing some light tracking this year...But mostly I am on mountain roads Crusing with a EVO and a STI....I don`t car about ride quality..I actually would prefer a stiffer ride....Thanks John

Strut braces are worthless on the S2000, they are for bling only. If I was shopping for suspension not wanting to spend over $1500 I'd go for the Blistein PSS9 coilovers. I think they are on a group-buy for $1300 right actually. You can then order a Spoon X-brace for just under $200 and call it done! Your next step would then be some stiffer anti-sway bars.

I don't think you can just slap coilovers on your car and it will automatically drive better... odds are, it will probably handle worse unless you do some test and tuning and you are a good enough driver to know what's wrong with the tune.

Your car alread outhandles the EVO and the STI. What you might consider is a stiff front sway bar, larger front tires (225) and an agressive alignment. Couple that with some auto-x and track experience and I garauntee you'll smoke your buddies.

That's my opinion.

For best handling with coilovers, you'll want to get your car corner-balanced and do an agressive alignment.

I never knew the S2000 outhandled both of those cars..It looks to me as if they have a way faster turn in speed when entering corners...Maybe its because they are both faster cars in terms of aceleration....I don`t just want to upgrade because of that...My car doesn`t seem to be stable at high speeds.....I am looking to stiffen the car up more.... basicly reduce the body roll...Keep it stable at high speeds and inprove the handling.....I am realy just looking for some info on the T1r compared to other brands...Thanks again John
