--Suspension Help--
I am going to purchase some 18in Volk GT-U wheels and I would like to lower my S2000. I need so advice on what type of springs I should purchase. I am interested in the Espelir Springs what do you think about that choice? I dont want to slam the car and I would also like to keep a good ride quality. What do you think I should get?

I read a remark from someone else on this site that had Volks in the same size and offsets as our GT-U's. He was using the Espelir springs, and he said it was too much of a drop and that he was rubbing a lot. He was going to switch to a different spring with less drop to avoid the rubbing issue.
Many board members seem to be happy with the Kg/mm sport springs, which will give you a modest drop of about 5/8". You could also use Koni adjustable shocks, and mount your stock springs on the lower mount which should give you about a 1/2" drop over stock, while gaining better dampening characteristics at the same time.
I would also like to hear other board members opinions on this issue, as I still have not made up my mind as to how I will lower my S with this same wheel.

Well, I can tell you what NOT to do
I have 18" Volk GT-7s (the offsets are +50 fron and rear)
I have done the following mods to accomodate the wheels:
-KG/MM Race springs (about a 1.5" drop)
-Koni Yellow Shocks (on stock perch and set on FIRM)
-Rolled Rear Fenders
-Set Alignment to -2.0 degrees
Result:
-Rear Wheels still rub when I hit dips in the road.
Next step:
-Changing to KG/MM SuperSport Springs (about a 1/2 inch drop)
Result:
-TBD
Please keep in mind that 18" Volks do not have ideal offsets for the S2000 (although they look very very nice). If you dont lower your S, you wont have any rubbing issues. The problem there is that you S looks like a 4x4 sitting on low pros . I highly suggest dropping your S about 1/2 inch and all should be well.
Of course your other option could be to get some customs wheels with an offset in the 60s/70s and then slam it!
Take care.

I have 18" GTUs with Espelir springs.
The car looks so bad ass with the drop. It says it drops 1.3" but after it has settled it seems more close to 1.5-2" because I can barely fit a finger in between the wheels and and fender.
To be honest. the drop is so awesome, the handling is much improved, but it seems like the shocks are suffering. If you get Espelirs, get shocks at the same time.
