Synthetic bad ?
Hi Guys, I am new to the forum and it appears after reading some previous posts, it is not good to go synthetic until at least 7500 miles? Is that for the older model, newer model or doesn't matter?
Is it that bad to use Synthetic before 7500 miles then?? Any scientific proof that it is bad?
Thanks a million!

your oil from factory has special molly which helps the engine break in.
Now that is from Honda rep who spoke in front of hundreds of people at Fall Color 04.
So If I were you stay put and at least use factory oil for first 7500-10,000 miles or so before switching to synthetic.
As far as scientific proof goes, no there isn't any scientific proof on this.

Most new piston engines need a certain amount of "hours" of running time to break in. this is set by the engine maker. honda states that synthetic oil is not recommened until you have 7-10k on the odometer. yes there is proof, snythetic oil will not allow the parts to break in properly. just read the owners manual that comes with your car. and go by it. this is what I know about it. and Im sure there are other more informend opinions than this.

It's not "Honda engines". It is This particular type of Honda engines. Why is proof required to follow the manufactures recommendations?

The proof is that honda says no synthetic oil for first 7.5k If someone knows more than honda does, I am all ears. as I want know as much as I can about my car. and be a help to others. there is a lot info about this subject. meanwhile Ill be looking for more info.
Honda Also says no rev'n past 6k for the first 1k miles, but many people disregard that too
I think some people use Dino oil until 7-8k...But I woudn't leave the stock motor oil in till 7-10k...way too long
