Default Synthetic oil prices...WTF?

I went to get some synthetic oil to change the oil in the S and my van and holy shit, the oil went from $3.99/qt to as high as $6.29/qt, WTF???

I couldn't believe the price at the first place so I went to another, then another, finally had to come to terms with the price jump. Then I had to go to 2 more places to get enough oil for both vehicles (5qts of 10/30 for the S and 5 qts 5/30 for the van).

What's the deal with the HUGE price jump?

Autozone in Leesburg had a sale. I just got 10 quarts for $4.80 a quart or so.

I'm trying some 0w-40 Mobil 1 since Honda says 5w-40's a good choice

2003 Toyota Sienna, 67,000 miles. I need it for business. I haul my equipment and clients in so I can't have problems when I'm carrying clients or heading to a job.

When my dad was changing the oil in his Accord he noticed that it jumped too. Why? Crude oil prices have dropped a little.

I would buy-out the entire shop @ that price

Get used to it.
Overhere (Europe) those prices you mention are considered LOW!
As in : VERY VERY CHEAP!

Sometimes Costco is a good thing...and sometimes you feel like commiting sepeku after looking at the lines.
