Default t1r63 v2 catback

I recently installed catback. It sounds a bit loud but pretty much enjoying it.
But the tip of the catback touches my top of my ap2 rear
bumper..
Also it looks more akward than i expected without covering a left hole..
Do u guys have any idea what i should do?

Definitely need to get the tip off the bumper or it will melt it. You may need to play with the hanger or the hanger hook. If you had the exhaust installed, I would take it back to the shop and have them reposition it. If you did the install yourself, you may need a different hanger (can get one at a parts store) that hangs down lower...or you may need to gently bend the hanger hook on the exhaust (use a pipe and do not press on the muffler canister).

For AP2 guys, there is not much you can do to change the looks when you go to a single. Have to get used to it. Ask yourself: is it better to look good or go fast?

You may also be able to find an AP1 owner who wants to swap rears with you. Then you could purchase an exhaust cap to cover the hole on the AP1 bumper.

I have the same exhuast and also having the same issue... It is slighting touching and bumper havent melted yet... I've tried to reposition the rubber and the exhuast would havesome room. Once I drive the car for 15 minutes, the vibration will position the exhuast up and touch the bumper... I am going to bend the hanger a bit and see what happens.....

I like the exhuast but it is the only flaw. Sucks paying this much money and having to fab.

Do you have any pics of it?

I'd love to see pics of that exhaust installed.

Is it possible to fabricate an exhuast tip that is more aesthetic to the newer bumper without causing a possible meltdown? Perhaps a dumb response, but sometimes crazy ideas lead to a smart idea from time to time. Anyway, this exhaust issue has also caused me a lot of mental anguish. I finally elected to order a comptech cat back system even though I am not fond of the round design of the tips vs. the oval stock design. Moreover, in light of the price per horspower gain, I will probably second guess this decision for quite sometime since numerous long time sk2 owners have advised me that a catback system does not provide a signifiant amount of additional horsepower. Nevertheless, I figured that since I have already installed a set of comptech headers, an AEM ECU and an aftercooler for my comptech supercharger on my 04 s2k, that I would proceed to jump off the cliff and hope that the exhaust system provides some additional performance.

Good luck with reconfiguring your single exhaust.

I would go with aftermarket bumper or swap to an AP1 with a cap. As far as the melting issue, you can always do like a race car and just rivet on some stainless steel/titanium on the bumper where the tip touches, although it would look a lil weird on an AP2 rear bumper.

Someone told me if I change the rubber exhaust hanger to ap1's then it will
solve the problem. Is that right?
