Default Tailight Recall And Drove My Car 2 Miles!

Tailight Recall and Drove my car 2 miles!!!! im so pissed, ive heard of stories b4 of people joyriding in your car while or after your car has been in service ...... yeah so i left my car this morning for my MY00 tailight recall ..... and i left i wrote the mileage down, when i got back it had 2 miles!!! i asked the service guy what the hell is going on .... he says "Oh on every car we have to drive the car and make sure everything is ok" ...... ok if u did engine work i understand .... but on a freaking tailight recall replacement ..............

Not to sure what the law is here, but when I lived in the UK I had a similar issue with a dealer - apparently, the law there is that ALL cars must be test driven after the dealer (or even an independant garage) does some work.

I had my car in for a cracked door mirror - the glass had to be replaced, and they test drove it for a mile.

I took my 04 STi in for a squeak problem, 35 miles and 1/2 tank of gas later I got my car back and it still had the problem...

i don't blame you dude, i would be pissed! i mean, why the hell do you have to drive the car to verify you installed a new tailight correctly?! service techs joyriding other people's cars

I'd be happy if people that worked on my car wiped some of the grease off their hands before touching it. Had my tires replaced last week, the FBI could identify the mechanic from the fingerprints on my fenders.

That's why I replaced them MYSELF.

Did you take your complaint to the service manager and above? That is rediculous. The car shouldn't have moved farther than back and forth to the service bay. Dealers (most) suck, plain and simple.
