i was wondering the same thing...but i'll probably pull the hooks behing the driver's seat....that's where i'll moun t reinforcement plates and then eyebolts....i'm thinking of taking the mesh out of the headrest hole, crossing the belts and feeding them through the hole....that's my plan

The last time I checked it was extremely dangerous to mount 4 points without a rollcage/bar since you have to loop them down all the way to the bottom where your seat bolts are without having an leverage point above where your shoulders are. I probably worded that completely wrong, it's really hard to explain. In the event of a rollover it can cause spinal compression.

Anyone want to chime in on this?

if you look at the install instructions on takata's website you'll see that mounting it a little above midline (where thoose hooks are) is a safe position...as to the strength of those mounts, that's why i'm talking reinforcement

I don't know of an alternative to the floor-bolting (which I don't think is even rigid enough). Like Project22a said, any mount point behind the seat that is lower than a certain point (I can't remember the degree of the angle) creates downward compression as you get pulled forward. If you don't understand, wrap a piece of string around 2 fingers and pull the string at a point from between the fingers and watch your fingers get pulled closer together. That's the same effect of your shoulders getting pulled down into your torso, aka spinal compression.

I wonder if the roll bars are strong enough to hold you in your seat when pulled forward in a serious head-on accident. Obviously they can take the downward force, but I'm not sure about forward.

i undertand completely, but those hooks behing the driver's seat are within the recommended angle...so it should be fine....my worry right now is the two 3" staps being fed through the small headrest hole...seems like crossing the straps or not, I'll still feel a rub against my neck...don't you think??

I wouldn't do it. It is not worth the chance of being seriously injured just for the bling affect...

Oh, and it's a 30* angle...
