Default taking key out of ignition

hey everyone,

jus curious to see if anyone else have had this problem? when i take the key out of the ignition, most of the time, it doesn't click. like it still thinks the key is in there, i then have to put my key back in and fiddle with it or something and then get it to click. maybe i should take it to the dealer since it's still under warranty?? well i jus wanted to see if other owners have this same thing? thanks

What do you mean by "click"?
After the key is out, is the engine off? Can you still turn the ignition switch with say, a screwdriver? If the engine shuts off and the ignition switch can't be turned, I don't see what the problem is.

Interesting. Thanks for the link. That thread should never have been put in "Tell Honda". That's not what that forum is meant for. It should have been put either here or in UTH.

Hmm.. My '93 Prelude does this also - if you turn the key to the "neutral" position where you can remove it, remove it and open your door, the car will beep the "you've left your keys in" reminder...

If you force it slightly backwards "past" the neutral position and slide it out (or give the ignition switch a sharp tap with your finger), it will click and stop beeping.

Kinda ugly - If you still have a warranty on your car, I'd bring it in.

No problem.
I think with all the incidents of this happening, Honda should bring out a TSB on this and take care of it for people. I'm sure they'll know about it soon if not already.
