Wow price not bad for those bazookas...so is it too loud or just right inside the cabin? Any horsepower gains that you can actually notice and feel? How many lbs. is that? Debating whether to get that or Spoon N1.
Sweet, good job! I would've got the Tanabe no doubt, but only if it was a straight design. The size of the tip are just right. I don't know why people say it's huge. Looks good to me. Video clip please! I'm curious with w/ and w/o silencer.
Well, I was so excited to install it I didnt weigh it, but it feels WAY lighter than the stock setup. That thing is a tank. I think they used lead for the packing. Again, I havent dynoed it YET, but I seem to notice some decent tourqe increase down low and definate throtle respone increase on the butt dyno. Then again the tourqe I think I feel may just be that it sounds like a race car now and gives the impression of more pull. Feels great though.
As far as the noise level, like I said, VERY loud but not deafening and only loud when you are accelerating or decelerating. At highway speed it is comparable to stock with a deeper tone. Hope that helps.
Are you sure the hks is not made of stainless steel because recently i've been able to listen hks and comptech exaust and hks definitely have a deeper sound and i was heading to buy this exhaust next summer, but at that price if it's not stainless !
I like tanabe sound but it's too loud for the daily driver that i am.
Anybody know an exhaust with a hks sound but made with stainless ??
I was told by my dealer that the mufflers on the HKS are Stainless but the piping is mild steel coated with something that inhibits rust. I prefer stainless so I went that way. The comptech is also full stainless but not loud enough for my tastes.
Not sure about the all-stainless steel Super Racing Medalion, but the "coated" version of the Racing Medalion series (no longer offered but many still around sold as new old stock) weighs 13-lbs less than the OEM S2K system. My carbon fiber replacement mufflers from HKSA, weigh 1.5-lbs per side LESS than the TRM canisters so I'm now at 16-lbs under stock. The Tanabe is definitely NOT for the db stealthy or understated look eh Rex?
