a electronic device goes on top of the coilover and adjust the dampening. INstead of you having to adust it by opening your hood, its connected to a device that you can adjust within your cockpit. I believe there are 3 or 6 memory settings so at the fly you can automatically get a certain dampening force for certain situations (you set these adjustments, doesnt come pre-set).
also it does not allow you to adjust ride hight.it would be nice but no you cant.

I love mine. I dont track my car, but handling on the streets and especially on the highway is awesome. At higher speeds, the car doesnt feel as light as before, and I cant believe how I can take turns at 40-50 mph. I love em. Got the EDFC too.
I track my car and they aren't good enough. Lousy street ride, compared to JRZs and Penskes. They are a decent cheap setup, but don't except the world from them. They are a twin tube design, so heavily subject to foaming of the oil and some loss of damping associated with it. the rears are too short to damp real well.
They have pretty decent build quality, but suffer from typical japanese coilover problems, no enough rebound damping, too much high speed compression damping, etc. EDFC was gimmicky, you really don't need to adjust the stiffness of the shock in the car. It'd be cool if you could give it a lot more rebound without raising compression much, but you can't.
