I just got an 04 s2k and I really love the way it rides stock (this coming from an entirely too low DA9) the ride is actually quite comfortable yet responsive. The thing I hate about the stock ride though is the SUV stance.
I'm looking to lower the car without upsetting the balance of the car ie. increase bump stear or make the ride super harsh. I really like my kidneys so I dont want amymore rattling over bumps
Soooo.....I was thinking about Tein S Techs cause they have a resonable 1.5" drop and their made to work with the stock shocks so I'm guessing the ride should be quite comfortable (or comparable to stock).
I did a search but the S tech threads always turn into a coilover vs springs discussion and well I think I just want to get some first hand opinions on these springs or maybe a set of better springs? (eibachs?)
I wanted to know what differences come with the S techs over stock. Do you guys (people with S techs) find the ride comfortable or does it get alot harsher? Do you find that the car is more responsive or the same? Did bump stear become an issue? etc etc. Any comments would help.
also if you have pics of an AP2 on s techs i'd appreciate it
S-techs ride like stock, corner slightly better than stock but lower the car. Great spring for the money as long as you arent looking to go very low. Just make sure to align the car a week or two after lowering.
I'm putting mine on today, can't wait to see the results. Make sure to schedule an alignment and drive careful after the springs are on. I've got an alignment scheduled for this Thursday, just gonna drive it alot tomorrow so that the springs will settle. I'm using my Helm's manual and a guide I found on S2000turbo.com for the install. Here's the link http://www.s2000turbo.com/index.php?option...id=92&Itemid=27
Good tutorial. I am thinking about having mine installed - who should I go through since the Honda dealer is usually reluctant to install customer brought in parts? Also, when it says have the car aligned to factory specs a few days later, what would I use as reference to what is factory...?

They feel great for DD over 10k miles here. I think it's more like 1" drop and +100 ft/lbs over stock. Not bad for track days either. Car setup feels very neutral between under/oversteer and ability to correct and handle it.
Hers mine. I've been putting these pics up every time someone asks about S. Tech's. Hope youe guys arent getting sick of seeing them. This was a great mod, BTW. I cant tell the difference in ride or handling over stck and the "SUV" gap is gone.

I'm in the same boat here... I would like to achieve the look without compromising driveability and rideability. I'm sure it's been covered elsewhere, but what's the difference between the Tein S. Techs vs. other springs. I know that people would recommend going for a full coilover setup but since I drive my S as a dd, I feel that going that route may be more than I'm willing to spend. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
for ap2 the stech is actually stiffer by about 15%. on the Ap1's the s-tech feels just like stock but of course lower. the quality is actually quite good for the price and I never had a problem with it as far as sagging. I used it for about a year with over 25k miles and I was very content with it.
