uhm......

when you put 2 people, and a full tank of gas, thats about 500 lbs over the rear axle, the car sits perfectly level, if not a tad low in the rear. you need to think about that, before you go making a lowrider out of your s2k, i love seeing these guys who only care what the car looks like sitting, they get in, and you see them driving down the road with the ass end lower than the front,, looks like shet. sorry, i get frustrated with this stuff sometimes, im not being rude, just helping you to open your mind.

You right, you have a valid point.

This is just to provide additional commentary on Tein S-Techs since we're low on S Tech commentary on this board.

I originally wanted a better than stock ride. I assumed that since the stock ride was fairly stiff there would be options to sacrifice handling for some daily driving friendlyness. After hours of searching for comments on the STechs I decided to go with them since many on this board say the S Techs are similar to stock.. some say better even. Depending on what your definition is of better, I think they are far from stock in both ride and performance. The ride is firm and not too jarring but definitely noticeable and far less "soft" than stock. This is my first set of any type of suspension mod for the S but I believe I will shelf the Teins and go with Koni + Stock springs sitting on the lowest perch. This way I don't think i'll sacrifice much in terms of handling but i'll get the added comfort of the firmer shock but stock spring rates. So far Teins are good springs and are "softer" than the eibach coil/ground control/koni setup my friend has on his. Again, my goal is to maximize ride comfort and autoX setup secondary. So if you're goal is also that, then I hope this commentary helps you.

Handling is far improved, as expected.. it's fairly flat through the turns. More predictable than stock and probably just as good as any other spring (non coilover) option out there. I'm using my stock shocks but I can tell i'll probably blow them out in 10k or so miles. I have 40k miles on the car already.

In terms of ride height you can see it's pretty much even. it's about half inch higher in the rear on 18" Volk AV3s (note: empty tank of gas and my laptop+bag in the trunk)

Hope this helps!

Note: for the DIY lowering home mechanic spring installer... unbolt the gas tank inlet pipe. it'll make your life so much easier. Lowering time about 2.5-3hrs. I didn't need a spring compressor but it is advised. use a scissor jack to prop on the rear fender and insulate the rear upper fender so you dent it. this is if you don't have a friend helping you.

Keywords for search ease: Tein STechs, S Tech, S Techs S-Tech, STech

Other Springs/shocks I've used on previous cars
99CLK - H&R with Koni Yellows
91Integra - Eibach with Tokicos
96Prelude - Neuspeed with Stock Shock (bad idea!)
02LR Discovery - Old Man Emu Shocks and Springs
