tempted to buy a certain s2k
I'm new to the board and I'm doing to hop into an s2000. I have always wanted an ap1, and I found a member on the board staticx*^%* (don't totally remeber the name) and he is sellin the rebuilt titled s2000. I checked it out today and it needs some work, but I have no problem with that. The only thing that concerned me was the motor. Its an ap1 with an 05 ap2 motor/trans.... but he said it was running an ap1 computer still so it would still rev to 9k. When it entered v-tec it didn't seem like it wanted to pull any harder. It seemed slightly sluggish throughout the rev range, but he did tell me it hadn't been started in about 2 months. It has an apexi ws2 and a spoon snorkel and a 6 puck clutch. Could it be that maybe it just needs some fresh fluids? (ie. Gas, oil, plugs, tranny flush etc?) I'm not trying to dog him, he's a really straight forward, friendly guy and I'm actually really tempted to pick it up, but I want to make sure what the problem may be, because I want an s2000 that can run like the others and perform just as well.
Thanks guys
(After roaming the boards, I already fell in love with it, it is an excellent source)

Was the crossover to VTEC audibly noticeable? If you haven't driven another AP2, I'd say try to get a ride in one, or better, drive one for comparison.
Other than that, if there are no CELs and the car seems to run well otherwise (good compression, etc.) then go for it if you feel comfortable.
Good luck!
