A ten cent part for only $42.00!
This weekend, I discovered both taillights were out. (Could it have something to do with the fact that I just took the S in for the condensation recall?) To get at the bulbs, I had to unscrew the cargo net hooks on both sides. After replacing the bulbs, I started screwing the first one back in and put too much pressure on it. The small round nut, held in the hole by a piece of rubber(?) disappearred down inside the trunk, between the metal lining the trunk and the exterior of the car. Gone, gone, gone.
So I just went to the local Honda dealer for a replacement. Sorry, they aren't sold separately, and I would have to buy a whole new net for only $42.00 to get the little ten cent nut I need. What a bunch of crap.
I'll figure out something with a molly bolt, or glue a regular nut on a washer and glue that over the hole, unless one of you ppl have a better idea.
The moral of the story is, don't lose your nuts.

As for the tail-light being out, it is a common problem after doing the tail-light replacement. Most of us just take it back to the dealer who did the recall service and they replaced the bulbs for us (for free, of course). Could have saved yourself a whole lot of trouble just by doing a simple search.

I had them fix it under warranty and was surprised to learn that they had to order a whole new net! At the time all this happened S2000s and accessories were backordered so it took forever. At least I didn't have to pay.
You would think they would keep a few of the silly parts around...
