Test Drive Today
I finally got to take a s2k test drive today.I had been wanting to test drive a used one so I could vtec but none have been available so I got a call today from a dealer offering a test drive of a new one so I figured why not. The car was sebring silver and had 58 miles on her, my overall impressions are seating was comfortable and this was a concern as I am 6.3 250+ I liked the way everything was layed out the only complaint I would really have would be the top rim of the steering wheel blocks the tach a bit for my seating position but I thought everything else was well thought out. On the road I tried to stay out of vtec but got into it a little bit and got a small feel for it it felt to me like something you would need to keep rowing thru the gears in the 6-9k range to really appreciate it, I got her up to about 100 on the highway and it felt stable. Where I really appreciated the car was in a big empty parking lot where the salesman and I first switched seats I asked him if I could toss the car around the lot a bit to get a feel for it and I did and that was were I really felt probably just the tip of what the car is capable of. On the highway I put it in 6th at around 70 to see how it would be on a trip and I didn't think it was bad at all I think it was at about 3800 R.P.M. and also I didn't feel the ride was too harsh, I noticed the seats were a little hard but I think they are perfect for this car and they kept my big butt planted! I was suprised at the location of the plugs I didn't know they were located under the cover. Sorry for the long post but I am still REVVED up! Rob
I have set a goal of late next winter early spring to buy my car I still need to find storage and I would like to wait for the economy to pick up a bit but it was VERY tempting to buy the car today but good things come to those who wait and I would still like to drive a broken in car and run thru the gears as I feel I didn't get to check out the full acceleration capabilities of this car and make sure it is what I want but I will tell you I am pleased with everything I have experienced with the car so far!
