Default Test drove an 06 and 05 S2000... Questions?

A few months ago I test drove my first S2000. It was a 2006 with 25k on it. It was the first time driving a 6-speed and first ever S2000. Needless to say I needed a little practice and advise from the salesman. The gearbox was really smooth and I had some trouble with first gear throughout the test drive. (I was only at 2000-3000 rpms when i let the clutch out to shift). Anyways I had a blast test driving the car.

Here I am today just finished test driving a 2005 with 22k. It felt somewhat different from the 2006. I'm not sure it was the VSA or what. The thing that I am pondering is the 2nd gear of the car. When I shifted from 1st to 2nd and then let out the clutch there was some jerking in the transmission (like I was about to stall out). Again I was shifting low around 3000-4000rpms in the car not driving like a bat out of hell.

When I driving in 2nd gear I was told by the salesman to let of the gas and then shift to 3rd. The car stopped jerking after I let off the gas then I went into 3rd. I asked if this was normal and he said that I need to work on driving a manual a little more.

In all seriousness does anyone think I let the clutch out too fast from shifting to 2nd? What could have caused the jerking in 2nd gear. Clutch going out? Syncros going out? Or just my inexperience in car? The car has all it's service records and still has a factory warranty. I just need some comfort before I pull trigger and go for this S.

Either too fast or not enough gas.

I let off the gas when I was in 2nd. Then, I pushed in the clutch then shifted to 3rd.

i think thats just your inexperience with driving manual ... once you drive it long enough you will understand the car and adapt your driving style.

go on .. buy it !!

Well I have read some post about warranties not being honored because they will say the item is a normal wear-n-tear.

Clutch isn't covered, obviously, but bad synchros or other tranny problems are.

Don't let a dealer/reseller scare you into thinking the warranty doesn't cover things.

My reading comprehension is very bad, but did he post a price?

I any case, '06 was the year drive-by-wire was introduced. That may have had something to do with the "smoothness" of the OP's shifts.
