Which test pipe with Invidia
I just put my Invidia on today and I'm gonna die. I pray it quiets down in a few days. Sounds great from the outside or behind in another car.
anyone have success with a certain test pipe on the Invidia? I have the berk one and I thought it was supposed to get rid of the drone.

I have Berk and Invidia also. Trust me when I say, it gets much better. You just have to break it in. At first it was giving me headaches but now it is fine. With top down it isn't even really that loud. Top up it is a little droney but not too bad. But the first week I had it I thought I was going to kill myself also!
How long did you have smoke coming out of the pipes? I can see the smoke in my rear view and the smell gets in my mouth at stoplights. I had the test pipe on with stock exhaust, no resonator and it didn't smell.
See, people always talk about a smell with their test pipe. I have never noticed such a smell. And I don't know about the smoke either. I don't really remember too much smoke. Just break it all in and see how you like it
Most people with Test Pipes complain for the first few hundred miles. The inside of the pipe needs to be basically charred. You are smelling the coating on the metal burning off. Once you get a decent layer of creosote on it, it should dimish some. Dunno about the smoke though. Is it blue in color? If so, that I probably some burning oil.....your cat is what caught that, it just gets passed through with a test pipe.
Also, make sure you wash the bumper regularly, or you will be clay barring it every few months due to exhuast buildup (if you dont clean / clay bar it will tint the paint darker).
I dont have a test pipe, but have researched a TON on them, and might be getting one once I can afford a beater (at least a year). I like to plan in advance

The smoke goes away a few days after...the smell however takes a couple hundred miles unfortunatly.
As for the noise, give it a week...you'll be used to it and fully addicted!
I'm thinking about a test pipe but I am afraid of the 3000 dollar fine that could come along with it

Fyi, most all testpipes are the same, a peice of aluminum/stainless with flages, there are some with the built in 02 sensor fix. If you dont have one like that, you can go to a autoparts store get spark plug foulers and drill them out to use as a 02 fix.
