Default Test Pipe Question

Any one know the gains of a test pipe on a supercharged car? Is it worth the money? I live in Kansas so Emissions isn't important. I also would like to know how much help a header and TB would help with my setup. Thanks.
BTW search was down.

stock maybe 2-3 hp gain on a supercharged possibly 10 at most... correct me if i'm wrong. yes it's worth the money. on a FI you'd want to make it freeflow. get an o2 simulator to get rid of the oxygen sensing check engine light. header might help and tb? what's tb stand for?

One member with a SC, AEM EMS, etc. pulled an additional 20 hp with just the test pipe removal. I wasn't so lucky and saw zero gain.

If you are doing any fuel tuning, I'd reccomend removing the convertor just so you don't damage the convertor from excess fuel. The stock convertor is about 800$, I'd rather not damage it if I can help it.

While tuning on a normally aspirated engine (Greddy eManage) , one of my
friends netted about 6.5hp at the wheels from his test pipe (w/ O2 sensor) following three hours of runs (during the tuning process). The test pipe was the last thing to go on. It sounded like crap (made his S2000 sound more like a farted-out Civic) but it sure did make decent gains. I believe, like most mods, they begin with proper air/fuel tuning. If you car is tuned properly, you should see decent gains with a FI-engine using a test pipe sans cat.

Thanks for the info. I really don't want a really loud car, at least louder than I already have . I am just looking for a few more ponies, never can have enough.

I wouldn't say the Test pipe improved the Sound quality of my car either. the exhaust sounds rather "hollow" or "Tinny". It also reeks of unburned hydrocarbons, and NOX. Most of the people behind my car on group drives comment on the stench.

Can't we call a spade a spade? It is a "catalytic converter bypass tube", for cryin out loud. who is kidding anyone? - these are not used to test anything, other than a smog inspector's olfactory apparatus. I say it is not worth fouling the air, unless you make a living racing, where it some cases it ios OK to use.

To answer your question, you may gain a few ponies at best, up in VTEC-land, and your car will be noisier, barring additional changes downstream.
