velcro will not hold to the carpet because the carpet is not looped. You need to stick the loop side of the velcro to the carpet with tape. My 3 series has two round patches of velcro on each mat (4" dia.) and they stick like crazy. At least that's the theory anyway. We'll see how it works out.

Yes, mine are charcoal/red with heel pads on both mats. The color looks much lighter in the pic because of the flash. They are actually a near perfect match for the black carpet.

I haven't gotton my mats yet so I don't know if they will slip or not, but if they do what about putting two small grommets in the back corners and strapping the mat to the seat bracket - my parents old Mercedes-Benz has this little trick.
