Another Silver/Blk S2000 in the SF Bay Area. I've had the car 2 weeks (and 1000 miles). I just wanted to thank everyone on this forum for all the informative posts, and the S2Ki club for the great FAQs. I've been reading the posts here for about 9 months. Great stuff.

Thanks to landro, I purchased my car through priceline.com, which I would recommend yo anyone. Sumitted bid to priceline on Wednesday (MSRP), got multiple replies on Thursday, found car 1t MSRP+1200 (I know, but this is the Bay area), talked to dealer once on the phone, picked car up on Friday. The most painless car buying experience I ever had.

Thanks to the S2Ki FAQ and many posts here, I had the full list of do's, don'ts and things to check when I picked up the car, and now while I'm running it in.

Once again, thanx to everyone.

cheers,

pete

Congrats.. I tried priceline when looking for mine (last october) and the best they could do in the area was 35,500 for a demo model.. no thanks..

I dont know if the dealer told you, but the combination of living in the bay area, visiting s2000online.com and owning an s2000 requires you to periodically meet with other owners for lunch and such.

pS2K...

Glad to hear you had a good experience with priceline.com - it was definitely the easiest car-buying experience I've ever had. The price offered depends on how far you're willing to go. I expanded my search to all of CA, which is why I had to fly down to LA to pick up mine at MSRP. Did you talk to Ray Baldwin at priceline.com? He worked with me to get my car and he did a great job.

pellisS2k - I haven't had a chance to meet up with other owners in the area yet...missed the lunch last Friday. I hope to be at the next one.

welcome to the board and the wonderful experience of Bay Area S2K ownership. yes, the requirement of meeting for lunch has been a fairly painless one, except that Pellis had to do alot of work on the last one. Gotta find anthother place for lunch for the next one...good adaquate parking is of course required. Look forward to see you at the next meet. happy motoring!

I actually dropped by the Mtn View lunch to see the assembled S2Ks in the parking lot, but I couldn't stay for lunch. An impressive collection of cars and mods, nice group of people. Looks like I'll be a member of the small, but highly select, old farts section of the Bay Area S20o0 owners club. Next time I'll make sure I can stay for lunch.

Yes, Ray Baldwin was the guy I dealt with at priceline. I also expanded the search to all of California. The best price I got was from LA (MSRP+1000), but I paid 200 more and got the car in Roseville, just east of Sacramento.

Now all you have to do is get the requisite 600 miles so you can VTEC!

pS2K,

Welcome to the board. I had the same experience with all the help on this board when I first joined, and now I'm an S2000online junkie, although I don't come close to Greg Stevens, who seems to be on this board 24,7,356

Hey pS2K, thanks for the public kudos...it's nice to get a note of appreciation every so often.

And welcome to the club!

Rick, my computer is on 24/7/365, that doesn't mean that *I* am online... (as far as you or anyone else knows...)
