I feel way safer with the hardtop and the car looks infinitely better w/hardtop IMO but it still wont keep people from stealing your antenna

thanks for the replies all, i didn't even think of them taking the ht, while stealing other stuff.. is there a way to lock the top like the seat locks?

my plan is to get a detachable steering wheel, and the lock piece that goes into the hub so u cant stick another wheel on there. (obviously take the wheel out all times) change the lock in the trunk to those circle locks that you can stick a screw driver into, an alarm w.pager, seat locks, or just wielding the seat screws and putting alittle jbweld or something on the screws for the cluster. might sound alittle crazy, but ive had a car stolen be4 (94 integ gsr) from the front of my house in like less than 5hrs, and ill be dammed if i have another 1 stolen.

thanks for the info

If the thieves want something in your car they're going to get it. Garage is always a safe bet to go. Or you can get seat locks. Try a fastener supply. They should have some tamper proof bolts that might help deter the thieves.

If someone breaks into your hardtopped car, their probably after the hardtop. The thief may have targeted you because of the HT and will be prepared with an appropiate truck or van to haul his booty away.
Still, The HT does offer quite a bit of protection against the average thief that just happens to walk or drive by IMO.

.....the factory alarm don't go off when a window is broken I thought it did, anyone have there windows busted with factory alarm, please chime in. A alarm is kinda useless if it doesn't go off when a window is broken, I mean the only logic way for a thief to enter a lock car is to break the windows (with hardtop). So if the alarm only sound when the door is pry open which is the dumb way of breaking into a car, then the alarm is useless like how shotiable stated above. This is not good news at all, but my alarm and hardtop do give me a sense of sercurity since I have no garage.

An aftermarket alarm with proximity sensors and battery backup works well. I also have a remote pager so if I'm nearby and someone's messing with my car, I will know it.

I also have Kodokan seat locks and a hardtop. All of these things don't prevent theft, but they reduce the probability.

If you don't plan on removing your hardtop often, you could permanently bolt it down to the frame. There's a member here that has done this and discussed it in the past.
