I don't have a comparison graph, but typically a Boxster S will put out just under 220hp to the wheels stock. Because their exhaust is so restrictive a good set of headers liberates over 10hp at the wheels, usually more. I have seen a dyno of a Box S with intake, headers, modified mufflers, and a bored out t-body make 248hp at the rear wheels, so there is a ton of potential left in the motor.

Hi Antonio,

I have researched this.

From manufacturer's publish data, if you redline, you get more acceleration capability in 1st with the Boxster S. From then on it's a fair match up to 6th. Above (>220km/h) aerodynamic effects become the overriding factor and the Boxster walks away.

If you do not redline, the BoxterS has an advantage that is proportional to how short you shift both cars.

In summary, you can keep up with a Boxster S, but you need to work hard. Get sloppy, and it will be faster.

If you search this newsgroup you'll find a few threads discussing and graphing results on this same topic.

Actually, I saw a Best Motoring video that had a Box S, an S2k, an ITR, a Legacy B4, and two others, and the Boxster clearly out accelerated every car off the line. So much so, that it picked up two spots on the short straight and tucked in behind the ITR (reverse starting grid). Above 60 or so, it appeared the S2k could match it, and stock, the S2k could hold more speed in the corners by a tiny amount.

Cool video. Love both cars. About to order a Stook.
