Default Is there an automatic S2000 in the works?

I would like a daily driver S2000, but stick is going to be a pain in the ass. I have a stick Integra right now, so I was looking forward to an automatic. Is there going to be a automatic tranny S2000 soon???

Honda would never admit (it until it's ready for debut) but I strongly believe they are working on it. They created a 2.2L engine solely for the American market, so why not make a slush box for the US? It would greatly increase sales. I bet slush box Z3s/Z4s out-sell the MT ones at least 4 to 1.

Are you familiar with the word sacrilege?

sacrilege: Sac"ri*lege, n., The sin or crime of violating or profaning sacred things.

With a high revving engine, a torque converter capable of dealing with the punishment (and heat) generated by the high RPMs would make it highly unlikely. Besides, packaging would be close to impossible due to the small area available for the tranny in the S2000.

It would be much more likely that an SMG tranny would be introduced. Opinions vary on the desirability of such a transmission, and whether or not it would/could have a manual clutch. But there's no question in my mind that it would increase sales. You could expect that an SMG tranny would add a few bucks to the sticker price if it were available.

No, no!! No automatic. Then more people will be buying the s2000's and driving it....I feel special to be a girl and driving a s2k. Just like the TT's. Now that automatic is available, there are more TT's than ever out there

Hope that never happens to the s2000's!

what is it with people who can't drive?
why would you want to relinquish control?
people with automatic always slide backwards down the hills in san francisco.
people with automatic put their foot on the brakes too much.

in my home country, if you pass your driving test in an automatic, you are only allowed to drive automatics. they should do the same here.

the fun of the s2000 is pushing the revs. who in their right mind would want to lose that thrill. never in a thousand years.

please, NO!
