Is there an AUX input on a stock 04 headunit?
I was thinking about just hooking up my ipod via a aux input like I have done with my other car/cars I have had in the past. If there is an aux input where is it on the head unit?
Anyone have that audio2car kit sold at best buy? THe says it works on S2000s from 2000-2003... As you can tell I have an 04, do you think it would still work (that is if it's for trying)?
It does not have an aux. input anywhere. If your goal is for an mp3 player to hook up to your car, I would do one of two things.
1) Buy an aftermarket head unit...I have a Pioneer which has an aux. input right on the face which makes it very easy. Alpines also are great, and I'm not completely sure how, but there is a hookup in the back of them to run an audio cable.
2) Go to mp3yourcar.com, or search the forums here for the Neo Ion. It is a wire that runs from the back of the head unit to your mp3 player, and it allows you to control it by the ipod itself, or by the head unit. Actually, it even hooks up to the audio controls to the left of the steering wheel. It's $190.00 and some people don't want to spend that much on a wire...but if you think about the money you'd spend to buy a new head unit AND one of their mp3 hookups (i.e. Alpine or Pioneer) it is far less than that.
There are more options than that, and I'm sure you'll hear about them, but that's what I would do one of those two in your position.

The device from MP3your car is not just a wire. It is an interface box that makes the iPod appear to be a CD changer. That is why they are so expensive.
Alpine have (finally) created direct support for the iPod and built it into their HUs that is why you just need a cable with a newer Alpine unit.
PAC makes a device that can turn the changer port into an AUX input, but you will only get line in audio, no control from the HU or dash controls and it will not charge the iPod.
You should probably check out the Electronics forum as you will find many more details there.

Was simple to install. The ipod has long enough life and it's the same distance to reach the HU as the ipod itself to change tracks....

I try.
I couldn't find an install on a Berlina 2004, so an 00-01 NFR will have to do.
