there has to be a way to get cheaper insurance...
Alright, thanks for the heads up Steven
I'll definately keep this in mind when looking for lower rates. I'll try and see if I can get a student discount also and see what other options are available.
I really appreciate everyones help in this thread

i'm 22 and pay $1500 for 6 months.. but then again i have a bad bad record... speeding tickets everywhere...
hopefully when i turn 25 it'll drop.. but untill then i dunno.... but it's all good.. it's worth it to have an S....
just go for a drive and you'll forget about the insurance...

Haven't called my agent yet, and very close to pulling the trigger on a new S2000, so wondering what others are paying near my demographics;
43 years old, no tickets (knock on wood), living in Ventura/LA County California. Will probably put about 10k/year. Presently with CSE paying about $500/year for my Miata. I know that's nothing, but it is one of the charms of the Miata. they see it as an economy car.
thanks all,
Mark

I don't mind the insurance on my s2000, i'm 22 with no accidents and no tickets, i pay less than $400 every six months for my insurance. That's only cause it's not my daily driver though, and i have a $1000 deductable.
Do you have a beater?
If so, this can help save a lot on car insurance. I have a 94 Prelude which I cover liability only, but the insurance company only has to put your "threat" (24 year old male in my case) on one car. They then added the S2000 on as an additional car which I have full coverage on ($500 collision deductable, $200 comprehensive).
This saved me about $700/year when compared to insuring the S alone.
Because of your age however, I think a lot of people already stated it.....You're just going to have to live with it.
Good luck

Right now I pay $1400/6 months for mine through Progressive. I just got a reckless operation ticket (no accident) so I'm pretty sure my insurance is going to go up soon. However, I got a quote from Geico with the new ticket on there and it was actually $100 cheaper every 6 months than what I pay now without it! I'll be switching soon.
I just got rid of a 94 NSX that was $450.00 every six months for full coverage (29 years old, homeowners and multiple car discount on the same policy) and my 04 S2000 is $685.00 every six months
Kinda crazy!
