Is there more power in there?
In my AP1. Okay, so here's the Q. I am rollin down the road, when I feel the sudden urge to put yet another dent into the floorboard beneath the gas pedal..., and..., I wait for the RPM's to reach 6.5K to feel all 240 horses come to life. It is short lived though, because I soon have to shift, then wait again.
I guess that wasn't really a question, but this is. Is that powerband variable? Meaning, how can I adjust the curve to include more of the lower RPM range?
I can't believe that the big power is only available after 6000 RPM.
Surely somebody here in the motorhead forum has asked the same question.
Is it in the computer? Is it a sort of waste-gate, and possibly as simple as just changing a spring? I know that big HP is there, and I just want to release the reins and let it run free.
I'm sure it's a big secret kept in Japan, but I will find the answer. I am just hoping to get a little bit of a jump start with my investigations if anybody here has any insight???

1) This is not the correct forum.
2) VTEC engages at 6K, not 6.5K.
3) Do a fluid change and new spark plugs. If the power is still inadequate in your estimation, have it dyno'ed for verification. If nothing is wrong with the car and power is still inadequate in your estimation, visit the Forced Induction forum and bring your checkbook.

dont think negative man. look at it like this: The lo cam of the car is fore play, just getting you warmed up. not really anything exciting but its fun. the the high cam kicks in, this is when you stop the fore play and you do what both of you have been wanting to do.. you both go crazy shifting in and out.....until bam love explosion and then you ease slowly back down to low cam. and take it easy
I think people are trying to say your questions are not exactly technical in nature, but more "I wanna go faster! What button do I press?".
Actually, all 240 horses (if you're lucky enough to have them) come in around 8,500 rpm, so it's no wonder you're having to shift as soon as they start clomping down the road.
