Default Is THERE A WAY TO GET VEHICLE/MODEL AVAILABILITY ON THE WEB?

I remember sometime ago pulling up a list of Honda dealers in Pa and being able to see what models they had in inventory at the time. It appears that my Honda dealer is not able to secure a New Formula red S2000 anytime soon. I thought I would go on a web search to find one in PA and see what kind of deal I could make. Problem - I can't seem to find the link to search the dealers inventory - I believe I got this through the Honda website - but it doesn't appear to have that option now. Any suggestions?

I just went to the Honda website. They still have this option. Just visit www.hondacars.com and then click on the link on the top right side of the page -->Request A Quote

A new window will appear, create the car you want and then fill out your real info or just make stuff up. Just make sure to put the correct city/state/zip. They use that to pull up the closest dealers to you. Once you enter that info a new window will appear and it will show a list of dealers in your area. There is link for each dealer to show their inventory.

Enjoy,

thanks - I'll try it again. Earlier my only reply was a big error message.

I tried it again and this time it worked out. Honda website has some issues with it though. When I give my address, guess what - I get the same dealer I'm trying to work with now. I live in a very rural area, and the only dealer I get is Murray Honda, and by clicking on the "more dealers" option I get a short list of other rural dealers within 60 miles of my home. By faking out Honda website and giving them a ficticious address, I can get to the Pittsburgh dealers inventory, but how serious are they going to take an inquirey from someone 100 miles away, who can't post a real address? Anyway I located a NF Red Honda at Valley Honda on the William Penn Highway. Does anyone know what these guys are like to deal with?

Most dealers have their own independent websites, and some post their own inventory lists. Make up a list of dealers through the main Honda site, and then use google to search for the dedicated website for each one you're interested in. It's worth a try.

While we're on the subject, does anyone know of any sites that let you know how well a car model is selling?

The website will work for you! Decide what your greater shopping area is - say Philadelphia to Newark - and then get the Zip codes for cities within that area that have Honda dealerships. The www.hondacars.com website works that way - you can leave all the customer info the same except Zip code; the site searches for dealers within that Zip. It's clunky but it works.

Well, I did my reasearch, and then went back to the local dealer. He realized that he would loose a sale if I went to Pittsburgh. He has a silverstone S2000 that he will trade with the dealer at Monroeville for the red one I want. He has offer to trailer his down and mine back at no charge. He has made trades with this dealer before and has a good relationship, so if all works out, I should be driving a new NF Red S2000 by next week. I'll keep you all posted and thanks to everyone for the advice.
