chuck, try having the top adjusted downwards - i.e. to lie lower in the roof-well when top is down.

i had this done when i had the seatbelt tsb done and it tightens the "up" position onto the seals and windshield frame.

ps. sorry about your tornado situation.

regards.

nice productive info. I'll keep that in my hip pocket, if mine whistles.

Driver's window is not working but after reading some other people's experiences, I'm not so sure I want to take it in to the dealer.

Rattling noise coming from my left when top is down.

Occasional 1-2 grind. (no its not me)

I still love the car and would pick it over any other car under 40k.

Hmmm...let's see if this tops off SondaS2k's list:

Bought car in Dec. 16th 2000.

Problem: A week later, I discover the dealer left the spring spacers installed!
Soln: I call the dealer and give them hell.

Problem: Mid Janauary my car gets the #4 cylinder problem 2800mi.
Soln: Car gets new short block replaced, no car for 2.5 weeks.

Problem: I removed the black tape on the windshield only to find out that the border wasn't completely painted. April 2001.
Soln: Take the car into dealer for repaint, but it looks like crap. Haven't decided what to do about this yet, repaint or reinstall the tape.

Problem: Summer 2001, the driver's side window relay goes bad.
Soln: Still pending

Problem: Summer 2001, the clutch/tranny is making buzzing noise.
Soln: Have to find a reputable dealer for TSB #54

That's all I can think of for now.

yeah, i guess when you see a documented list like that, it's not the most hassle-free car to own.

my list would probably be similar (if not longer), but, i just can't be bothered worrying about stuff anymore....

Damn, sorry to hear about your S getting trashed like that, and I'm glad you were ok. I remember that tornado, a co-worker lives 1 mile from the tornado track through downtown Ft Worth, and another co-worker the other one in south Arlington from his house.

BTW, do you know when they're going to drop that tall building in Ft-Worth? Looks really odd with all those boarded up windows. I've heard they delayed the drop after Sept 11, but I'd love to watch it go when they finally get around to it.
