Default Things to see in Tokyo?

I'll be in Tokyo for about two weeks next week. Other than the auto show, are there any S2000-related places (shops, tracks, etc) that I should visit while over there?

First, grab yourself a copy of the volume 46 HyperRev Magazine. I'm sure some of the guys on the board sell them. Do a seach on "Japan Goodies" or something like that, there was a recent post on this as well. That will basically cover everything related to S2000 shopping, so if you do prepare to buy what you want ... That gives you an idea how much your budget should be.

Second, the streets at night and on weekends are good enough to give you quite a motorshow for itself. There are alot of high performance vehicles around while sometimes if you're lucky you might spot some high performance police vehicles as well. Other than which, the food is great and general shopping is good if you're into it as well. Nice lingerie for the girls and lots of nice clothes as well ... Heh! Night entertainment is plenty and you can get chicks or whatsoever private services with a bit of direction around. What you need is lots of money for a real good time.

Sorry, I forgotten ... But hell, you know what to do in Japan anyway. You don't need no local's advice.

Yeah, I already have that issue of Hyper-Rev, and I've heard (though not seen) many races along the freeways of Tokyo. It seems that every other car is a Skyline or 240, although I've never seen any high-performance cops (the ones I've seen drive vans) or S2000s for that matter.

So no specific places, eh?

Take a tour of the Tochigi plant...it's a couple of hours outside of Tokyo, but there are tours of the plant. Then take a tour over to the Twin Ring Motegi...Honda's main proving/testing ground. THAT is one awesome place. Make sure to visit the Honda Collection Museum at the Motegi, as well as the Fan Fun Club.

Then in Tokyo, make sure to head to Super AutoBACS. It's Wal-Mart for cars and cars only! In Saitama is Mugen's HQ. That was the highlight of our trip last June. We got a VIP tour, but you can tour the facility and see all the amazing cars, engines and other Mugen/Honda things in the showroom of the facility.

Whatever you do, don't take the Hato Bus tour! Trust me on that one...

If I can think of anything else, I'll post...it's an amazing place...most of all make sure to get ready for a cultural trip you will never forget!

Not S2000 related, but if you want to see kogals, go to Shibuya! Your eyes will be popping out. I walked into a store called "109" with my wife and I didn't mind waiting for her to shop for a change, with all of the scenery in there (some of them are scary though, with how much make-up they use).

smccurry, next time you go, I'll expect several rolls of film to be scanned! If you can, invest in a descent camera so the pictures come out good!
