One of the funniest things I've seen here on S2kI was the poor guy who constantly argue about the superior handling of the particular MY S2000 he owned, only to learn after a year or so that he'd been driving around with spacers in his springs, and that his car had actually been handling horribly.

I can't believe Honda dealers are still leaving the spacers in some of the cars. I guess some dealers can't be bothered to do the prep properly, but isn't that a form of indirect theft (since you pay for the service when you buy the car)?

Yeah,,, I'm also wondering if it might be a legal issue if you were to get into an accident,,, Let's say you get into an accident because of poor handling, related to the suspension not working properly BECAUSE of the spacers being left in????,,,, I replaced the coils/struts in mine at the body shop yesterday,, where it just got repaired from a minor accident I got into, It started a MINOR tail-out powerslide,, I corrected, it started to straighten out,, I back OUT of the gas,, at which point,, it snap-spun into a complete 360,, and then, "nuzzled" up against a chain link fence,,, What if the spin, loss of control was due to improper handling, resulting from the spacers in the coils?,,,

I do think that when negligance results in loss, there is liability.

A bit surprising that we haven't seen any lawsuits (yet).
