Thinking about getting an S2K
Ok well i currently drive a 2007 civic si. I love the car to death but it is just not the same. I recieved about 6000 dollars worth of hail damage and they replaced my hood, trunk, and roof. After the car was painted it just never really looked the same the paint seems to be dull in spots but the guy said he wont redo it and the insurance company said it looks fine. To me i know its messed up and all of my friends know it too. So basically im stuck with a heavily modded car that just isn't what i bought because of what happened. The only other honda i would buy at the moment is an s2000. Now this isnt like a might buy it is a definite would buy if i knew what i was looking at. My price range is about 20 g's and im reaching my hand out to you all to a new world i haven't yet walked into. If any of you could help to buy an s2000 at a reasonable price in the Northeast area i would really appreciate it. Im also on the fence about getting rid of my baby so if any of you could maybe show me the pros and cons of the si vs s2k i would greatly appreciate it.
Pros of owning an S2K:
- receives more attention than most cars on the road
- good gas mileage for a two-seater
- revs up to 9000 rpm
- convertible top for those sunny day cruises
- enduring good looks that haven't gotten old, even 9 years later
- impressive handling
Cons of owning an S2K:
- insurance might be higher than most cars you can get in its place
- receives unwanted attention sometimes
- modest torque output
- envious onlookers can tear a hole in your soft top
- can be bitch if you're not used to driving RWD
In any case, I'm sure whatever decision you make, you'll not regret it... Unless it's "not buying the S2000" because that'll be the worst decision in the world.
