They ran ITB's on the stock compuer with the piggy back vafc unit!!!???

From what I've heard you need to have a standalone of some sort.

A couple people on these boards have invested in ITB's and it sounds like they love them. But from what I gathered they have invested a lot of money in custom made parts, the ITB's themselves along with engine managment, and much more than normal amounts of dyno tunning.

You've got a lot of research to do before starting up. Try searching, you'll most likely find some really good information.

:edit:

I would guess your looking at an easy 5k + to go this route.

something you may want to consider instead of itbs is dh racing's intake manifold/throttle body combo. they guarantee 20+ whp and its $775. its going to be one of my next mods.

I have heard some VERY shady things about that company. Might want to look into it.

You can't believe everything you read. If it was so easy, everybody would be running around with them and since they aren't, why do you suppose that it?

^^^^

You have to remember that it's Honda Tuning mag -- the only thing that you absolutely have to have with ITBs is somebody to tune it properly, and Honda Tuning definately has the ability to plug into those kind of people. Yes you should definately go standalone if you get itbs, but remember that people keep spending $ on tuning because they have problems finding someone who can lay down a great ITB tune. My advice would be to pm someone with a RELIABLE (idling correctly) itb setup and see who they got to tune the car.

I don't think it's a good idea to start calling Honda Tuning Magazine liars, I'm sure that if they printed that article they are making that much power. All you have to do is find the best Honda ITB tuner in the country!
