thinking of an s2k daily
ok, im new to the boards , please be kind.
Im 23 , based in the uk.
I currently have a renault 5 gt turbo as a weekend toy, a 205 gti6 that im building for pure track abuse.. and a peugeot 306 1.9 derv that runs on chip fat oil as my daily. Now the problem with this 306 is that although being dirt cheap to run, its very very boring, and not only that but i work in a office enviroment and it just dosent boast to much about myself.
Therefore im looking at replacing this for a honda s2k.. Why this car you wonder, well i love them, i love the stying the looks, and also the engines dont scare me with regards to maintence unlike larger jap/turbo engine where everything thing seems to cost the earth.
Also i believe s2ks to be realistic to run if you drive them in a good manner incomparision to many sports cars in there league.
Now i may be wrong with any of the above and what i want to know is ... am i??
Also ill be looking at buying an older s2k around the £5k mark, so im just wondering what i should look out for to avoid a duff one.
Any advice much appreciated

Many folks daily their S, me included (when it isn't raining), and have no issues.

I kinda daily mine. I also have a CRX is drive in poorer conditions but my S2000 has been through it all no problem.
-DEFINITELY get snow tires if you have snow in your area. Found this out the hard way.
-Your gas mileage, while not terrible, wont be amazing. Going from a CRX getting 33 city to the s2000 getting 22 city was a big change for me.
-At first, it felt cramped when I got it. Now I am totally used to it and love driving it.
I say do it!

i also daily drive my s and have no issues with it.. i enjoy my work commutes when not stuck in traffic.. also, being that it is a honda 4-banger maintenance is very basic which is a beautiful thing...
I was 23 when I purchased my S as a daily. lack of backseat and having a small trunk gets a little annoying from time to time. However, the fun factor and love for the car easily outweighs it.
