Thinking of selling the S
Hey guys...
It seems like this happens every year, but this year I've got some different variables that are making me seriously consider selling the S and looking elsewhere. I'm looking for some insight from the older wiser members that have been there.
I've supercharged, regeared, reclutched, hardtopped, subwoofed, reshoed and then some. The car is amazing, has not EVER let me down, and continues to impress myself and my passengers. The thing is, though, over this last summer I got into sport bikes, and picked up a CBR600 F4i. It's faster without breaking a sweat, cornering is more exciting and takes more skill, it's the spirit of the S with more of everything. So the logical argument is that... It's going to rain... Well yeah, I've ridden in the rain and it's not that bad- but it's not really wonderful either. At the same time, the S isn't a whole lot of fun in the rain either- at least not on public roads.
I feel like selling the S, keeping the bike and picking up a somewhat sensible car that holds people, belongings and is still kind've fun to scoot around in might meet my needs better. You guys ever gone through this?

You can't have a bike but drive an econobox. Each vehicle of yours should serve different purposes (for those of us that don't have 7 figures in our bank account). Seems to me that you like the bike more, so sell the S and get an equally sweet multipurpose vehicle, then sell me your super charger. I think a truck would be a good addition.

I did the same thing last year. I sold my S after I picked up an F4i. I had the exact same mindset as you--got a bike for speed and an SUV for DD duties--perfect set up, right? Nope.
It was fun riding at first, but now I hate riding on the streets. Too many idiots that cut you off or almost run you over. Then you've got road hazards to deal with (gravel, pot holes, rocks, etc.), not to mention the cops are always targeting you. Then you read of stories of people killing themselves on a bike. Most of it is not because of the biker's fault, but it's from other people's neglect to SEE the biker.
As of now, I'm shopping for an 06-07 S2000. I will either sell my bike and get a track bike, or turn my bike into a track bike. I'm done riding in the streets.

I'm not really sure if its fair to compare your car to your bike, I guess all cars will seem to not offer quite the same driving experience then, but on a side note you could always turbo the S2K to keep up with your 600. The local CBR600's don't like me too much.
