Default For those with lowering springs

I finally got around to replacing my OEM shocks yesterday with Koni yellows. I had been running Swift springs for the last 15K miles, which lower less than an inch front and rear. When they took out my old shocks, the front left had blown a seal and all of them were in pretty sorry shape. Lower than stock ride heights just really reduce the longevity of the OEM shocks, apparently. My car has 33K miles on the odometer, BTW.

Just a heads up, if you are still using the stock shocks, keep an eye on them. And make sure that eventually you replace the shocks...better sooner than later.

Eventually you will sell your car, and you could have gotten some money for the aftermarket suspension and put back the original springs/shocks.

Anyone know how the price from the dealer on oem shocks? (Just curious)

For me, it was a money issue. I could afford to buy the springs, but the extra 600 for the shocks took a little longer to arrange. I'm just trying to give my "ghetto" brothers a heads up.

Springs vary on most cars. The S already has a tuned suspension, so just dropping lowering springs in the S will change that.

In my 03 WRX, all I had was Tein S's and it lowered nicely, handled much much better than stock, and the shocks stated in very good condition.

It varies from car to car, there's nothing "ghetto" about it!

We are leaps and bounds from the days of cutting a few coils!!!

Thats why I am doing the koni yellows first. Gonna put the stock springs on the lower perch for a little bit. I originally was going to go with lowering springs/stock shocks but decided to jump in and go for the wallet kill first.

Did your car sit lower or higher after you replaced the OEM shock with Koni yellow?
