Default Those with stock exhaust...

Of you look under you car at your stock exhaust, see in the middle where the two pipes get ready to go into one pipe, right before that brace? The right side pipe seems to be squared off and smaller diameter where it goes into that brace, while the left one is oval. Is this normal?

This should be on 00-03 s2000, not sure what 04+ is like.

That Y looks normal...I've played with two stock exhausts and the construction was always poor at the split.

Yea, I just noticed now looking under my car. The right pipe that goes into the split is almost rectangle, where as the left one stays oval.

ANyone have any closer pics?

The straightest shot is the right side so maybe by design this (seemingly) restriction causes a better split for the exhaust gasses.
Have to give that left cannister something to do although from a performance angle, this factory mod would be worthless.

My 07's OEM exhaust is like that too. The only thing different is the tips of course and the Benholtz resonator thing is more of an oval shape.

You have 2 exhausts pictured in your 1st picture? the exhaust on the left (non-stock, single system, all shiny) seems to look like a Buddy Club Spec IV - I was wondering if that was yours and you could post some impressions
