Default those who have MuzMats, need advice!

hello all...

i was wondering if i could get your opinions reguarding these mats...do you think the luxury mats are worth the extra money or not? they're roughly $50 more than the regular mats...

also, what does the heel pad feel like? its it a tough rubber? what is it? do you think that its necessary for the passenger side as well as the driver side?

i have a sebring silver on black, so (you guys know what i'm asking for here...) what color combo do you think would look good? i'm leaning towards charcoal and red trim...

thanks guys for all your input and suggestions!!!

mike

Mike:

I have purchased the Muz Luxury Mats. I think that they were worth the extra $'s. I feel, IMHO, that they will last longer and look better than the regular mat. I also have the heel rest. I think that it is a rubber or a vinyl. I just got it for the drivers side. I rarely carry passengers and my dogs feet don't hit the carpet.
I have a white / red and got the black w/red trim and the S2K logo on the X-bar.

Hope this helps

Dan

I own the luxury mats but have not seen the standard ones, so I have no comparison. I can tell you the ones I have are high quality, and if they are heavier, this should be another deciding factor. As others have posted in previous threads, you will get a lot of "movement" of the mats and heavier should lessen this. I also got the heel pad which appears to be vinyl or rubber and will obviously protect the fabric from dirt and excessive wear. I got the red mats with black lettering to go with my '00 red interior. The red is a bit bright and I would go with the black or charcoal if I had to make the decision again.

Go for it and get the luxury mats, what's $50 at this point?

I bought the regular ones a month ago, and I am still contemplating putting them in. They are not the quality of the OE ones, so I would definitely recommend getting the luxury ones.

I hate to bash someone's product on the board, but I've had the standard Muz mats for about 5 or 6 months, and I think they are garbage. The quality, in my opinion, is awful. They have no real backing to speak of. The carpet is now becoming fuzzy and very tattered-looking. The passenger side mat (no posts) is always sliding around because of the lack of backing. And, the mats, even when new, really never had any significant pile to the carpet, as they are very thin. So, my strong advice to you is to buy Rick's mats. I placed my order this week, and I can't wait til they get here so that I can trash the Muz mats. I have no doubt Rick's quality will be impeccable. Check out the picks of his prototypes. So, sorry to give such a poor review to someone's product, but I believe my impressions are accurate, and I think this could be helpful advice.

i have the same color S2K as you do ...
so here it goes:

grey trim and sliver logo.

since this is my weekend car, i don't drive her so much that eh carpet starts to wear out ...
but i have no complain about the mats. and the passager size doesn't slide around.
well, all i want from the mats are they stay in place, cover the floor and get out of the way ... and the muzmats are good for all those.
as far as the heel pads, they are there, so that my heels rest of them instead of the mats. no complain neither.

i don't know about the luxury mats ... but people seems to be happy about the quality of it.

I have the standard mats. The fit is more of a problem for me than the quality. The charcoal color has a bluish tint and will not match your black interior. Otherwise, no real complaints.
