Default Those who upgraded to an 06

Those of you who had an 00-05 and switched to an 06, any idea if the 2006 seats will bolt right into an older model car? I had my seats stolen from my 2004 s2k and was going to order new ones but I was offered a good deal on 2006 seats locally. I just want to make sure they bolt right up.

I'm sure they are nice, but I haven't seen them up close (at least haven't really looked at them closely). For those of you who had an 00-05 and now have an 06 (or decent driving time in one), what do you think of the new seats?

Thanks! Hopefully will have seats tomorrow night, lol.

The rails will fit the driver's side no problem.

The passenger side rails will not fit. you'll need to use 00-05 rails on the 06 seats.

I didn't like the fact that the headrest stuck so far forward. Gave me some neck pain. I like the leather a lot better, since it doesn't show wear as much.

Ahhhh thats good to know about the rails. I was told they'd fit no problem.

So I would need to order the rails from an 00-05 seat? Is there anyway to modify the 06 rail to get it to fit?

Hardtopguy told me they would! I hope he is right as I'm planning to buy a pair tomorrow. Why wouldn't they work? I figured maybe the other way around because of the airbag sensors in them.

Can anyone confirm???

They'd work fine, you'd just need the 00-05 rails.

So would an 06 car need the 06 rails to put an 00-05 seat in the car?

I ask because the guy I am buying the seats from is buying 00-05 seats. Are we going to need to swap the rails on the passanger seats? I'm assuming if the 00-05 cars need an 00-05 rail for passanger seats than the 06 cars must need an 06 rail?

TO be clear, the issue is in the other direction, Jsmply... You can't use older seats in the new cars because there are sensors for for the SRS (airbag deployment) that don't exist in the older seats.

As for the direction you want to go (new seats, old car), yah, if the rails are an issue, that's interesting. Technically speaking, there should be no problem with extra sensors existing in the seat that you're not connectign.
