Thought process when choosing colors
Well, I know we all have our reasons for choosing the colors we do, but it would be interesting to hear the thought process that went into it...so, here's mine...I didn't really have a choice with choosing a color, but it would have been the color I would've chosen if I did have that choice. If I was buying it new, here's how it would go...
Red: I love it, it's got character, looks great on the car, matches the back red lights, but would I want to drive it daily? Way too much attention, not gonna work.
Yellow: Love it, even more character, yellow diffusers, sidemarkers work great with yellow, but only good for days when I really want to stand out, otherwise, I prefer lower profile. And as much as I like the yellow, it and red screams look at me! So, that's out too.
Blue: A little lower profile than the two colors above, so that's good, very unique because you don't see this color alot, especially the dark blue. However, I can't ever see myself owning a blue car. Blue looks great with shirts and jeans, on a car, kind of weird, at least Red and Yellow's got that exotic color connotation and association. I associate blue with shirts and jeans.
White: Great on luxury sedans, or if on sporty cars, only with tons of sponsors and logos. It's "grand prix" white for a reason, because they need it to be white for all the logos they will put on it for advertisements. lol. No logos and it looks too plain and boring like a blank sheet of paper, something's missing, so that's out.
Black: Well, I know this is a favorite for a lot of people and on some cars it works great just like Sebring, but on the S, there is just too much black going on, the S's lines disappear into the sea of blackness, there is no detail, no contrast. Kind of like the Goth scene, way too much black.
Sebring: Although it matches the white diffusers, anything chrome, silver and aluminum very well, it makes the car look too light. The S's elegant, smooth lines with Sebring makes it look too light and non-aggressive for a silver color. It works well with the Beamers because they compensate for the light silver with angled, bulky, aggressive sheet metal.
This then brings me to the one and only color I could've picked as a process of elimination, even though there were other colors I liked.
Silverstone: Yes, it is probably the most common color for the S, however, only for the S. You don't see this shade of gray too much on other cars. It is darker, and makes the car look heavier and more aggressive than the other colors with the exception of maybe black, yet not too dark like black where all the details and lines of the car get lost in a sea of darkness. Silverstone also plays off of the alloy wheels, black leather, chrome, anything titanium or titanium colored very well, probably the most versatile in terms of matching all the things and materials in the S including the Vinyl top. It provides contrast, yet not too much and not too little. Furthermore, it is a conservative, yet still a sports car color, I prefer not to stick out in traffic. It is also easy to take care of, it is literally the color of dust! lol. So, that's sort of my thought process for choosing Silverstone over any other color if I had to pick just one.

Red: I really love S2000s in red, but it's a little too much of a "hey look at me!" statement for my taste. Unnecessary attention from cops FTL.
Yellow: I've never really been a fan of yellow cars except the occasional Lambo or Ferrari. Also, a yellow sports car screams "give me a ticket please" even more than red.
Blue: If I could have an S in any factory color, it would definitely be Monte Carlo Blue. As far as Suzuka, it's a little too light of a blue for my taste.
White: Although white looks really clean on an S, my last 2 cars were both white Hondas, so I wanted a change. Also, it just seems a little plain for a sports car. While yellow is too flashy for me, I guess white isn't flashy enough.
Black: Again, black S2000s look very clean, and some of the coolest S2000s I've seen have been black. However, like white, it seems a little plain unless you have some nice mods (I'm a big fan of the all-black look- black rims, black interior, cleared headlights & side markers). Also, black is probably the hardest color to keep clean.
Sebring: I've seen some Sebring S2Ks with mods that looked awesome, but stock it looks a little bland and seems to lack depth. Also, that shade of silver is very common, so it tends to blend into the crowd a little too much.
Silverstone: Behind MCB, this is my favorite color on an S. Yeah, it may be very common, but I love the depth of color and the way it catches the light. At night, it looks almost gunmetal, but during the day, it's a shade of silver with some darker tones. Although I like MCB a little more, I'm more than happy with my Silverstone AP1.

Red/Yellow = Too much attention from both people and cops
Suzuka blue = I normally love blue but this is too light for my taste
Laguna blue = LOVE THIS AND CURRENTLY TRYING TO FIND ONE
Black = An old favorite color of mine on cars, black car/bronze rims = sex
Silver = idk, never really liked silver cars. Too plain for my taste, there's sooo many silver cars on the road

I think to really decide you need to get out to a local meet and see the cars in person. No color looks the way you think it does in pictures.
Red: Our car is too small for red to look good. Red needs a lot of car.
Yellow: My second favorite but it's a bit too much color.
Blue: Monte Carlo Blue wins but we can't get it. Suzuka has the wrong sexual orientation and rightfully discontinued. Laguna is the fastest color and the perfect balance between all the others.
White: It's too sanitized. There is something hot about it but it's not quite what you want. Maybe if they had the IS350 ivory white with the 3 stage sparkle paint...that would rock.
Black: Sexy as fawk but I can't see it.
Sebring: 99% of America drives a silver car because they are not sure what others may think of them if they picked an actual color. Our S is special and deserves to stand out a little.
Silverstone: 99% of S's out there seem to be in this color. Ok it IS cool but it's like that top 40 song that was played over and over until you started to hate it. The color gives me kind of a sad feeling for some reason.

RED: i think only for ferraris
BLUE: owned a blue car before, and i see many blue miata's as well as S2K
white: too common, will fade to yellow
looks good only at night time
black: too common hard to maintain
Silver: colors of bmw and merc's...
yellow: IMO looks best, espcially with honda cars. Fell in love the moment i saw it ^^

Back in 02 I got the Suzuka blue as the color was new that year and I liked the blue interior the best. Also considered Sebring Silve but my 5 previous vehicles were all a shade of silver & I needed a change.
Trending Topics
Red - Look great under certain lighting conditions other wise it looks like it's faded under direct sunlight.
Yellow - mostly for exotics or if your screaming for attention. This color is the most personality driven.
Suzuka Blue - Ugliest IMO because it has no depth and looks also faded. It is more rare though and different.
MCB - looks good but blue cars don't pull it off very well unless heavily modded.
White - Unless modded, looks too femme and most women prefer it.
Sebring - looks like faded silverstone which makes it 2nd ugliest IMO. Looks terrible under sunlight.
Silverstone - Looks the best IMO...but the most common which sucks.
Black - hides everything on this car... not a good choice.

My last two cars were black so i wanted something a little different. I would have preferred moon rock, but thats not a choice here in the states.
I still think the black looks the best, but the hardest to keep clean.... also one of the reasons i went with the silverstone.

<- Had NFR Ap1 before
<- Called dealership night before.. told them I'd be in around 9am.. Dealer pulled all the colors they had (I think they had all but Sebring).
GPW was my first choice but I wasn't a fan of the tan.
Berlina looked nice (even though I swore I'd never buy a black car again)
