Thoughts on 2 different S2000s
Also consider where you live (not sure what stat you are in?) and how you want to use the car. I bought an 08 LBP with 140k pure highway miles which had a few things replaced before I bought mine and I daily drive it all year round in Maryland. The VSA is a life saver in wet or snowy conditions and the AP2 has a much more usable front cabin and the 08s got the best stock sound system I think. The S2000 with VSA and snow tires is much more stable and controllable then my old fit with all seasons was. The s2k does just fine in a foot of snow lol
If you are planning to autocross it at all and trying to be competitive in street class you need to go with an AP2.
I personally would rather buy a high miles freeway car then an low miles never driven unless autocrossed or just driven hard in general car.
Don't be afraid of miles. You can save a lot of money buying a higher miles car that runs great
For a fun street car that's just a weekend car having driven both the AP1 is more fun with its quicker rack on a back road and has that screamer of a motor just more character.
I have had basically no problems with mine. Just had to replace the top, wiper blades, retighten power outlet, and anything else (had to swap axles side to side, cut out control arms to get adjustment because seized, 3 sets of tires hahaha) are all because I autocross it. Mine even still has the original clutch at 170k haha and a few years of autocrossing now.
