Default Throttle Position Sensor

Does anyone know if it is possible to buy a new TPS without purchasing a new Throttle Body? If it is possible where can it be purchased?

I don't believe there is a replacement TPS available yet. Omni Power does make some replacement TPS modules for various Honda's, but as of last Sept when I contacted them, they did not have one for the S2000.

You might call them and ask if they have one now.

Just curious...what issue are you experiencing that is leading you to replace the TPS?

Mileage has dropped, and I am having intermittent hesitation. I also just found one made by Blox. Atleast they say they make one.

TPS failure can be one of the reasons for low mileage? What are the signs that tell you that your TPS is failing? I've always experienced significant lower mileage than others.

So are you just throwing parts at the car? Chuck the map sensor at it next, also Ckit has a thread on cleaning the map sensor vacuum passage, that might relate.

That's why I was asking. The test takes 10 minutes at most, and will save you both time and money. Find a friend with a Helms manual, and follow the procedures.

Throwing parts at a car is a little silly, but hey it's not my money.

I would definitely clean the TB and MAP (the MAP whack might help too). Cleaning the IAC might help too. Check the FAQ in the Under the Hood forum for instructions on all those tasks.
