After reading LABrit's previous post about his hesitation between 1900-2100 rpm I tried to find it with my '06. I literally tested it from 1000 rpm and up and still couldn't find any lag that he's reporting. I'm not trying to discredit you LABrit, I just wanted to see for myself because I looked hard for a lag when I test drove it and still haven't found any lag issues with the DBW. It responds instantly at any rpm for me.
I'm going to have to agree with slimjim and guess its just bucking at low rpms.

I traded my 2005 TSX for the 2006 S2000 and the S2000 has no noticable lag and the TSX did. THe worst lag I've ever felt was a Volvo S60R. I can't imagine driving at sub 2000 rpms in most any Honda.

I drove two MY06s this morning at my local dealership. I'm thinkin' or trading... hmmm. Anyway, I noticed the lag right off the bat. I would imagine you could get used to it. The one seemed to be a little more responsive than the other, but maybe that's all in my head. There is a noticeable difference between those two MY06s and mine. They were quite agressive pricing-wise since I just bought a new Ridgeline from them three weeks ago.
