I've heard from several people that the '01 Spa Yellow S2Ks are being shipped with Titanium shift knobs. True?

My '01 Silverstone/Black knob has a brushed look to it. I've heard that Ti has no brush marks. Hope that helps.

it seems unlikely to me that Honda is giving ANYTHING away when there is profit to be made, but I'd be curious to find out....

When I got my 01 yellow in November I was told by my dealer that the Ti shift knob now comes standard as well as the air deflector (windscreen). And I have both and they were not listed as options.

This is a dealer installed option. The Ti knob is slightly darker and not as shiny....it is also a lot heavier. The higher mass of the Ti gives a very positive shift feel......

The aluminum knob has a slight brushed finish. The titanium knob is darker in color and has a glass beaded finish.

Honda still lists "Aluminum Shift-Knob and Pedals" as standard equipment for 2001. I'd bet there are still some dealers out there that think all S2000 come with a Ti shift knob as standard equipment. And many people that believe that they got titanium but don't know it's aluminum.

I think for some it's hard to tell, like me, I think mine's Ti, but I don't know really. I know it's pretty dark, and smooth
