Stop whining. You got a ticket. If you don't think that's fair, find some grounds to fight it on. As for him questioning the ownership of the car, it has happened every time I've been pulled over...and it just so happens that I've only been pulled over is in OTHER people's cars, so it's more than reasonable. Stop acting like a pussyhurt little girl over this.

What is the officer supposed to do? He sees you driving in a parking lot at 2AM doing things you aren't supposed to be doing.

Take it like a man. You were zipping around in a parking lot.

I can see the reasoning behind the officer's action. I hope you don't mind me playing Devil's Advocate, but I wouldn't want someone driving around any of our parking lots late at night. There is a possible liability concern if someone gets hurt, property could be damaged, and a parking lot full of tire marks just doesn't look good.

I don't mean to judge you at all, I am just saying I can see where he is coming from and he is just trying to protect the owner of the property.

Take it easy on him - that sucks man! I agree, a ticket seems a little extreme. I suppose if you were literally doing burn-outs in the parking lot... but if you were just running some cones, I think its pretty weak to get a ticket - especially since you were trying to be safe and not endanger other drivers while you "practice". Would the cop rather you pick a nice bit of public twisties and go all out?

I think a warning should have been the worst that happened. But thats just my .02

I think everyone is overlooking the fact that it is SOMEONE ELSE'S PRIVATE PROPERTY.

I know, the same reason i cant walk my dog in the mountains behind my house, and we can no longer go dirt biking in the woods behind towns we live. Some jerk bought everything up and put signs up.

The cop probably could have given you a Wreckless driving ticket, so you may have gotten off somewhat easy.

That said, I would definitely fight the ticket using standard ticket fighting techniques.
