Can't believe I've had this car so long. It still keeps me sane when I put the top down on the way home from work. I also can't believe it's held up so well.
Thanks Honda...
Stats:
89k miles
Daily driver (hell...it's been my only car for 7yrs)
80+ autoxes
6 track days
3 Dragons
10 sets of street tires (been running autoxes on em)
3 sets of r-comps
2 wrecks (bumper damage...one front, one rear)
1 vandalism (keyed)
1 new top (and needs another)
1 blown diff
1 minor over-rev (no cracked retainers but replaced em anyway)
1 new TCT
1 new rear wheel bearing + hub (don't ignore the click)
1 set new coil packs
1 set new plugs
1 set new injectors
Compression is still ~220 with less than 5% variation across the cyl.
Slowly modded...in order of mods:
- Comptech Adj front swaybar
- Invidia .v1 exhaust (hated it)
- Comptech Intake
- T1R 63mm single (quiter than the Invidia)
- Toda header
- VAFC (best bang for the buck)
- Koni + Espilers (ok for street...not for autox)
- KW .v3
- HTG 4.56 gears
- Volk CE28n 17"
- Smoked lenses
- S2X 4pt strut bar (nice hand hold)
- AEM .v2 intake (thought it might be better than the Comptech...but not so sure)
- AEM EMS tuned by MASE (wish I had gotten that instead of the VAFC)
Last dyno day the car put out 215whp on a DynoDynamics...which should be about 225whp on a DynoJet.
Don't just leave us hanging! Throw some stats our way.
- Miles?
- Number of Autoxs
- Number of Trackdays
- Problems
- Loves
- Hates
- What you'd like to see in the next gen
You've had the car for seven years and still love driving it to death - if there's anyone Honda should be taking input from on building the next S2000 it should be you. I'd like to hear what your answers are to the above.
And btw, Congrats on 7 years of S2000 ownership and hopefully there will be many more to come
