Are you bogging off the line? Your mph is a bit low and that could be due to bogging. If you were spinning your mph would be in the mid to high 90's. Also, how many mile are on your s2000, that could have a big impact as well, maybe the ECU hasn't opened everything up yet. Just a thought.

here are my questions, why is it that most cars i raced (almost all) would be waaaaay behind me through the middle of the quarter then they would just start pulling hard on me and eventually catch up or just get a better time than i did, even though i beat them to the line? why is my trapspeed soooo slow? my cousins type R was pushing 96.xxx mph at the finish. it seems as if my car hauls major ass in the begining a juss slows and lets the other car catch up... BTW i launched at 6500 to 7000 everytime with little bogged starts. how can i improve trap speed or just keep the car moving fast???

was it really really hot? Did you really suck at shifting gears? were you shifting at or near 9000rpm?

Your '60 times are both awesome, but obviously your trap speed sucks.

are you sure those time slips were for your car, and not the WRX that you raced each time (joking...those time slips look just like a AWD cars....low '60 and low Trap speed)

20" wheels would slow anybody down - any idea how much those things weigh? The addition of rotating mass has a very bad effect on acceleration.

I've only been to the dragstip once in the S. Comparing your times to mine from that day shows you got a better launch, but that the launch advantage was lost already by the 330' mark, and that I was over 5mph faster at the 1/8 mi. It could have been a missed shift (or two), but if your driving was solid I'd say it was either the wheels, or maybe a really bad tank of gas. Consider that there are several folks in stock S2000's running high 13's at over 100mph. My best is 14.1@99.

If you've still got your stock wheels try switching back and see what happens...

jason if you look closely you will notice that the 20" rims are on my lexus... my s2k is stock. yeah i did get a lot of complements on my launches and my 60ft times. like someone said i had a lot of advantage in the begining but then lost it after the 1/8 mark due to my low speed. i have no idea what i did wrong, i shifted at 9k and the rpm didnt drop that much in between shifts. what is up with my trap speeds!!!!!!!!!

Oops! I must've thought that Lexus thing was just another S2000 accessory

I'd say the problem is happening somewhere between the 60' and 660' (1/8 mi) marks - comparing speeds, we both gained about 20 mph in the second half, but there's a 5 mph difference at half track.

How much better was your previous day of racing? If you were only a couple tenths quicker, your decreased speed could have been due to environmental conditions, as Scot mentioned, or some crummy gas, as I thought.

ok its determined that my times suck because something wrong is going on after1/8 of a mile, my car seems not to gain much speed. can anyone tell me why that is? it just seems that both my 1/8 and 1/4 mph's are sooo slow, can it be the car? Sev if you read this pleeease help me get into the low 14's!!!
